ICC color profile and colorspace

Our test machine is an Epson 4900. This professional A2 printer uses pigmented ink. The ICC color profile is made by Hahnemühle and the colorspace is limited, 556.615, but 25% wider than when you use a Canon PIXMA PRO-1 printer. Epson 4900 Museum Etching

Test results color on Hahnemühle Museum Etching fine art photo paper

Most pastel colors included yellow and orange are displayed well. The displays of dark blue, brown and bright red are a bit dissapointing. You dont't see much difference between a Hahnemühle Photo Rag print and a Hahnemühle Museum Etching print. You get better results when you use an Epson 4900 and not a Canon PIXMA PRO-1 printer. kleurweergave hahnemuhle museum etching met epson 49001

Gloss and surface of Hahnemühle Museum Etching fine art photo paper

Hahnemühle Museum Etching is a very thick fine art paper. That means that you can not use the paper tray. You can notice just a little structure and the color of Hahnemühle Museum Etching is the same as the color of Hahnemühle Photo Rag. You can describe this as 'a bit creamy'. We don't see a hint of bronzing or gloss differential. The surface, or rather the ink on top of it, is very vulnarable. You can easily get a smudge on a black part of your print.
