With a macro lens you can get a little close to the subject to photograph. With macro lenses the subject as large on the sensor shown as it really is. We speak of a afbeeldingsmaatsatf 1:1. The performance of the lenses in this table are based on "What you see is what you get (WYSIWYG)" as you save images in the camera as a jpg, with all the in-camera lens corrections ("What you see is what you get "). The Macro lenses have not been tested in the macro range, but have gone through the same test procedure as all other lenses. So you can compare the scores of macro lenses directly with other types of lenses.
There is another, "Pure and RAW" table with test results based on raw test results , where no corrections for chromatic aberration , distortion or vignettinge have been applied. Also the influence of the jpg conversion and sharpening are ruled out. RAW files withou sharpening are used for the Pure and RAW table. These scores approach the intrinsic quality of the combination of lens and test camera.
The performance of the lenses in this table are based on " What you see is what you get ( WYSIWYG )", as you save images in the camera as a jpg file, with all the in- camera lens corrections applied ("What you see is what you get ": WYSIWYG"). If a lens is tested on a camera with an APS-C or micro-43 sensor , then the focal lengths have been converted to the equivalent field of view for a camera with a full frame sensor ( mm @ ff ) . Because of this conversion, you can compare lenses on cameras with different sensor types . There are scores for sharpness (Res), chromatic aberration (CA) , vignetting (Vign) and distortion (Dist). The higher the score , the better the performance. The highest score is a 9.9 . Note thet lens scores are determined by the test camera being used (megapixels , sensor size, jpg conversion).
