Greetings from Holland
In other countries, they find it strange that Dutch people don't have curtains over their windows. Isn't that unsociable? Did you know in addition that there are many countries where they don't even have a word for "gezellig"? What are we talking about?
With Zoomify, you can show your readers a picture with dozens or hundreds of megapixels. You simply make a webpage from a 60-megapixel image such as this one. Making the picture was more work than putting it on the internet with Zoomify. This night shot is built up from 12 images made with a Nikon D800E + Nikon 85 mm f/1.8 lens, which were then merged with Picturenaut into 4 HDR images, subsequently tone mapped with Picturenaut, and finally stitched together with PT-GUi. Visitors, with the aid of a navigation menu below the photo, can navigate around the photo and zoom in. It's a considerably more elegant solution than having visitors download a file of dozens to hundreds of MBs. The software can be purchased for around 20 euros. There is also a free (stripped) version available in Photoshop: (File/Export/Zoomify).
