Nikon AF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED VR II DX
My life would be a good deal easier if camera manufacturers would choose simpler names for their products. The "Nikon AF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED VR II DX" does not immediately sound like a product for photographers who are just getting started with their hobby.
Don’t get scared off by the fancy name. Nikon 18-200mm is the only thing that you have to remember if you are looking for an affordable, versatile zoom lens that is suitable for practically every form of photography. That applies just as well for the starter who has (just) purchased their first Nikon SLR camera as for the amateur photographer who wants to photograph “without a fuss.” Of if you just don’t want to lug around all kinds of lenses during your vacation.
And the image quality? Of course a Swiss army knife does not offer the same quality as a professional Japanese set of knives. Even so, the image quality of the Nikon 18-200mm is a significant step forward in comparison with a smartphone or compact camera. With a Nikon 18-200mm, you will—without having to worry about changing lenses—have a great time photographing. I know photographers who are so happy with their Nikon 18-200mm that it has stayed on the camera permanently.
